American Protege International Music Competitions at Carnegie Hall

International Vocal Competition 2014

The American Protégé International Vocal Competition is designed for singers who would like to challenge themselves in a very competitive environment. The Competition is open to solo vocalists and vocal groups of all ages, nationalities and countries.

Participants are required to submit video recording materials for the audition.

A panel of qualified judges evaluates audition materials. All judges are independent, their students are not allowed to apply this season.

Eligibility


 

We invite school students and adults to participate in the Competition. There is no age limit for the adult participants.

Multiple winners will be chosen in each of the following age groups:

 Amateur (without Professional Degree)18 and older 
 College students and professional singers18 and older 

Awards


 

First and Second Place Winners performed on December 21, 2014 at the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

$300 Scholarship, Judges’ Favorite Award Trophy, Judges’ Distinction Award Trophy and other Special Awards may be granted based on the judges recommendations.

Carnegie Hall Music Competitions

Kayley Ji is 10 years old. She loves Broadway musical since she saw the first Broadway show” Mary Poppin” 3 years ago. She has taken vocal lesson for 3 years.  She is the 1st Place winner of 2013 New York Youth Talent Show in Singing Division (Children Group) which is hosted by Healthfirst. Meanwhile, Kayley is the Junior Winner of  2014 Long Island Morgan Park Music Festival. Besides being an angelic vocalist, Kayley is a natural performer. She enjoy singing and performing to everyone.

Singing Contest at Carnegie Hall 2020

Pablo Rubin-Jurado was born in Honolulu in November 2001. He is currently home schooled (6 grade), enrolled in the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth, and studies composition, piano and violin at the Juilliard School precollege program. Since two years of age, he has enjoyed a collection of opera DVDs from his grandmother including “II Trovatore”, “Carmen” and “The Magic Flute”. He began violin at age 5, winning first place in the 2010 and 2012 Hawai’i Music Teachers Association’s violin competitions, and first place in the Honolulu 2012 Mozart Festival. 

Largest Song Contest at Carnegie Hall

Caroline Anne Quinn, 14, from Garnet Valley, PA, has recently placed first in Onstage New York and Rising Stars Central NJ Productions. Caroline was a featured singer at Archmere Academy in their chorus production of West Side Story. Caroline’s vocal training is with Dave Barrus of Vox Studio in Philadelphia, PA. In addition, Caroline has performed in several stage productions including, “Anything Goes”, “Pippin”, “Xanadu”, “Godspell” and “Willy Wonka” and has performed at the Kimmel Center with Broadway Dreams Foundation in Philadelphia.  

International Music competitions at Carnegie Hall

Jiejun Liu, 31, from Beijing, China, is a Director of the Teaching and Research Office of Vocal Music Performance and Rehearsal in Sichuan Art Professional Education Institute, and a vocal music teacher in Music Department. Ms. Liu graduated from Vocal Music Department of Sichuan Music Conservatory in 2005, studied after professor Shihua Yang, Director of Vocal Music Department. Jiejun Liu has been learning vocal music in Vienna, Austria Schubert Music School from 2002 to 2003.
