Other special prizes may be awarded based on judges’ recommendations. Winners of the Competition will perform one piece or movement of a Concerto selected by the judges from the participant's audition DVD., based solely on the DVD recording. However, due to the venue constraints, some pieces such as Concertos with a full orchestra are unable to be performed at the Carnegie Hall.

For vocalists, strings and wind instruments, performance at the Weill Recital Hall will be with piano accompaniment. Only one grand piano will be available at the Weill Recital Hall.

Pianists may choose to perform a solo part of a concerto or replace their performance with any other piece from their repertoire, as long as it meets the time limit.

Pianists who wish to perform a concerto with piano accompaniment are welcome to perform at Merkin Concert Hall, where there will be two grand pianos (if requested by five winners minimum).

In case of any doubt as to selection, please contact the American Protégé Organizational Committee.
